Gysi's Encounters
with Howard Carpendale
07.12.2026 - 19:30
Neues Kunstmuseum Tübingen, Schaffhausenstraße 123, 72072 Tübingen
Starting in summer 2025, Gregor Gysi will meet people at the Neues Kunstmuseum who have something to say and have experienced something: prominent contemporary witnesses of public life from media, culture, politics, show business, music, sports, and society.
Few German statesmen have been so vilified, few have fought their way so successfully through the thicket of hostility—toward recognized prominence and to become one of the most important protagonists of left-wing thought in Germany.
Gregor Gysi, born in 1948 in Berlin, is a lawyer, author, podcaster, moderator, and politician. From 1990-2002 and from 2005-2015, he was parliamentary group leader of the PDS and the party “Die Linke” in the Bundestag, respectively. There, from 2020-2023, he was foreign policy spokesperson for the Left Party parliamentary group. Gregor Gysi is also successful as an author, including with his bestselling autobiography “Ein Leben ist zu wenig” (One Life Is Not Enough).
In entertaining conversations with depth and plenty of humor, Gregor Gysi presents one guest at a time at the Neues Kunstmuseum, speaking with them about life and lived experiences.
