Gysi's Encounters
Starting in summer 2025, Gregor Gysi will meet people at the Neues Kunstmuseum who have something to say and a wealth of experience: prominent contemporary witnesses from public life, including media, culture, politics, entertainment, music, sports, and society.
Few German statesmen have been so reviled, and hardly any has so successfully navigated the thicket of hostility – rising to recognized prominence and becoming one of the most important protagonists of left-wing thought in Germany.
Gregor Gysi, born in Berlin in 1948, is a lawyer, author, podcaster, presenter, and politician. From 1990-2002 and from 2005-2015, he was parliamentary group leader of the PDS, and later of the party “Die Linke” (The Left) in the Bundestag. From 2020-2023, he served as the foreign policy spokesperson for the Left parliamentary group. Gregor Gysi is also a successful author, notably with his bestselling autobiography “Ein Leben ist zu wenig” (One Life Is Not Enough).
In entertaining and profound conversations with plenty of humor, Gregor Gysi will present a guest at the Neues Kunstmuseum, speaking with them about their life and experiences.
