When music takes shape
What happens when painting and music hear each other? Mark Krause provides a vivid answer: For over twenty years, the Tübingen-based artist has performed as a live painter. In direct dialogue with musicians, orchestras, and the audience. His paintings are not created in a quiet studio, but on stage, in real time, visible to everyone. At the exhibition opening on June 6, 2026, Krause will create a work together with saxophonist Wolfgang Lindenfelser in about 40 minutes—a mutual reaction in which brush and instrument speak to each other. The exhibition Soundwaves brings together works that evoke summer, water, and lightness: colorful, rhythmic, radiant—like music you can see.
